But, a good alcoholic is weathered with a high tolerance for drugs. If they entered the relationship with honesty and the understanding that any transgressions would be dealt with severely, they might come to experience something on the order of the characters Frank Booth and Dorothy Vallens in Blue Velvet. Or at least Jeffrey Beaumont and Dorothy, if Brett isn't into huffing.
